I'm gonna keep it 100. The reason why rap is wack is because folks love wack shyt like post malone. That whole trap rap shyt is some simplistic garbage that doesn't even require any talent whatsoever. It's the same beat, same hook, same melody, same lyrics, same ad libs and ya loving that bullshyt. Why would a Alternative radio station play Camila Cabello's "Havana"?
I think Billboard looks as Post Malone as an R&B singer alongside also being a Rapper because the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart has been filled with songs from Post Malone's new album since it was released a few weeks ago.
To be fair, Billboard also does this with XXXTentacion too. I guess if you're a Rapper who mostly sings and/or melodies over Hip-Hop beats & never actually raps, that good enough to also be considered a R&B singer now.
I mean it honestly feels like a new genre that shouldn't be called hip hop or r&b. Those two along with others
