Sometimes when people are trying to shut you up about something, it's the best time to speak up about it. And the fact that he laid out his perspective across several specials, nobody who is being HONEST can say that his arguments aren't nuanced or straight up malicious. But you're not going to tell me what I can and can't say or think. You're not going to tell me what's off limits to address, who's off limits to speak or ask questions for.

This gets back to my first point... Dave is entirely too smart to fall for this and I’m not sure what his goal is here. It was just punching down for no reason to a group of people that constantly being punched down on. I’ve never seen a trans person in person so for me transphobia (which Dave obviously is) is hard for me to wrap my head around. Dave could easily tell trans jokes without being cruel but he chose not to. I believe that’s the issue here

let's face it, Dave took one of the biggest Ls in media history. this comeback wouldn't be so great had it not been for that massive setback.
that being said, i think he doesn't want to take anymore Ls in his career. he probably got the contract he wants that allows him to be able to create what he wants and he doesn't want society anything that like how things came between him and chappelle show, right or wrong. and he's been "wrong" aka crude sense of humor for most of his career so "without being cruel" is not even his style to expect that from him here.
