That crime bill wasn't promoted as a tool to further disenfranchise black Americans. Black leaders didn't just support the crime bill, they were actively calling for the government to do something about the out of control violence in the community at that time.

People like to bring that bill up in hindsight while ignoring the context that it was passed under.

He didnt use anybody. MFer showed everybody who he was for the past 8 years.

People saw/heard/read all that, and voted for him anyway. And he's publicly humiliated members of every community who publicly backed him within 6 months of his 2nd term.

In this case, people of recent foreign heritage know about coups and dictators from parents or personal experience. They saw Trump refuse to concede that he LOST, and back the Jan. 6th coup d'etat attempt.

Voted for him anyway. And with a straight face, thought that a man who doesnt respect the U.S. Constitution would honor campaign promises to them.

This is complete nonsense do you actually need it explained to you how mass incarceration is inherently disenfranchising by definition?

Black leaders didn't just support the crime bill, they were actively calling for the government to do something about the out of control violence in the community at that time.

They supported the bill explicitly. Two-thirds of the CBC members voted for its passage, full stop. Lying about things that are documented makes you look silly.

People like to bring that bill up in hindsight while ignoring the context that it was passed under.

These are excuses.


Like any other group living under the system of white supremacy, black folks and their anxieties have a history of being used manipulated and exploited. It serves us no purpose to fabricate around that reality.
