I don't get BB in Usher nor CB.r.kelly is the biggest pioneer of the over-the-top rap singers. the R album, TP2.com & chocolate factory birthed 90% of the singers and "singers" on mainstream urban radio in the 21st century.
theres more bobby brown influence in usher's music, moreso than MJ.
and I don't know if chris brown was a fan of bobby, but hes of that mold too.
outside of select tracks, the Michael Jackson influence is really moreso in their stage shows.
black men united gets its props but the soundtrack it was on is mad underrated in hip-hop circles.
jason's lyric is a top 10 soundtrack and has plenty of great rap cuts.
these rap forums never mention it.
this was right on time. perfect execution.
coincidentally, since the OP song is from jason's lyric, how about the songs from this soundtrack that got sharked.
ginuwine & timbaland ran with these joints a few years later. i made a thread about the jamecia jawn and alot of people got butt-hurt.
I don't get BB in Usher nor CB.
I didn't get much R Kelly influence outside of subject matter really, and just being lyrically explicit more than his vocalizations or singing style. The closet I can think to being a real R. Kelly clone was Avant.
That said we'll just have to agree to disagree on that, but I definity agree with your contention about the low point of R &B with modern performers
And I also liked the fact that Salt n Pepa were the only ones to stand up in the audience.the second video is just way too much Black excellence, I always watch everything twice, once for entertainment, and the second time for analysis. Pay attention to the audience and put yourself into their shoes witnessing the excellence of 40 extremely talented Black artists basically showing off just how good they are.

Who would you say is a r kelly knockoff?
I'm looking at Chris Brown - MJ Knockoff
Usher - mj knockoff
only r.kelly knockoff I could think of is that garbage ass trey songz but his career is over
yall give Michael Jackson too much credit on here.

It was made for running trains on broads though
Black men united :cuppls:

Probably thought they was too big for this. Or they didn't want to be on a track with Boyz 2 Men.@G.O.A.T Squad Spokesman where was jodeci?
They even had a female version
Listen to the fukking content on this song. How did we go from that to what we have now?
