Damn, so what happened to breh
He was more of a ballad type of singer. Once R&B started having more uptempo beats he got lost in the sauce. If he could've gotten with a Jermaine Dupri or a Timbaland early like Aaliyah did he could've rode it out. Timbaland and Missy did wonders for Aaliyah's career.

Can/will music ever get back to this?

Here's the rap version of "Freedom"

The thought of Patra, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Aaliyah, TLC, SWV, Yo-Yo, Lalah Hathaway, Monica, etc. on a track together is crazy :damn:

Left Eye's verse :leon:

Crazy how the music change just within the 90s itself. From this to Lil Kim and her clones being the representation of Female Hip-Hop artist and today all we have now Nicki Minaj who every year goes on Twitter rants about how people don't respect her lyrics and undermine her abilities. Well when you grew up in an era where the females sounded like this you can see why.

Its like the moment Pac died the substance in black music became eradicated.
