It did slow her down. Damita Jo was projected to be massive, much like All For You was. The ban on her music on radio as well as her music videos on MTV/VH1 meant that nobody was playing her stuff. None of those singles did anything because her music was banned. I don't even think the first single from Damita Jo cracked the top 50. Which is a major decline since she was just coming off a VERY successful era prior to that. Her only true hit after the superbowl was that joint with Nelly and that was only because it sold decently. The airplay wasn't good because she was banned on radio.

You can clearly see the decline in her chart trajectory. They destroyed her and she never recovered.
