Bill Maher's show last night dedicated a lot of discussion to the thought that there is a gray area between the twitter "woke" Democrats and real world Democrats and that the leadership needs to balance catering excessively to the former. I do think that's in play here where Pelosi and Schumer have made a decision to not get too close to Omar because they fear looking too radical for moderate Dems. In addition, they seek Haim Saban's et al. money. Dude was complaining to leadership about Omar even before she was sworn in. Pelosi probably also has calculated that anybody on the left who fervently cares about this issue are already in the bag as voters dues to their hatred of Trump. I keep reading from pundits and commentaors how she's the "smartest woman in politics" right now; we'll see if she's right or wrong.
Wait, are you saying that a pro-Israel comedian who has repeatedly voiced racist rhetoric towards Muslims is siding against Ilhan Omar in this controversy? :ohhh:

I love how there's a distinction between "woke" democrats and real-world democrats, but no distinction between devoted pro-Israel Washington Dems and the 95% of read-world Democrats outside Washington who don't give a shyt about backing Israel or actively oppose it.

Well I was just quoting the distinction they used on Maher.

The reason there isn't the same for Jews is because they've intertwined their money and power deeply into the fabric of both parties and the media to the extent that your harmless assertion could be seen as anti-Semitic by some lol.

fukk all that, fukk Pelosi, fukk Schumer, and fukk Bill Maher. All she said was that AIPAC has significant influence on our politicians. It's not radical and was just made radical by the far right nature of US support of Israel to the point that Democrats and Republicans don't differ on the issue very much.

fukk all the "political chess talk". Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are not making a "calculated political decision" as its more simple than the fact they wish to court Israel's Lobbyists and the far right zionist types (even though quite a few Jews in the US are more left leaning) than it is to try and play both sides. Otherwise, a more intelligent calculated move would be to shut the fukk up instead of stoking the misinformation campaign against her in front of an AIPAC audience like Schumer and Pelosi did. If they wanted to make a straddling the fence move, they wouldn't have drafted up legislation condemning Omar for her harmless comment faster than they do for Trump's white nationalist rhetoric everyday.

Bill Mahar can suck a dikk and not to be trusted on this issue despite proclaiming himself to be some sort of Atheist anti-religion figure and all the "We send our bombs over there is cowardly" supposed left anti-imperialist rhetoric. That shyt goes out the window when it comes to Israel.

Great compilation of him looking like the hypocritical shill he is, but you missed what might be the best example of that shyt. Greenwald provides actual incidents and Maher responds with his usual empty platitudes.
