I don’t think Marlo ordered that firebombing attack. He just said “put that around” to the neighborhood that Randy is a snitch.

Randy was getting all kinds of shyt after the word got around. Kids bumping into him in the hallway, kids weren’t buying his candy, and then those other kids jumped him outside the school. After the fight, those kids firebombed the house.

What’s extra sad is that it’s inspired by a real life incident in Baltimore where a family was killed.

Yea, I know, which is why I blame the firebombing on Marlo. Man, leave that kid alone, he ain’t got shyt on you - no threat at all. And that had older kids/young adults fukking with him - the people who did the firebomb looked 18-22. I get it, they said explicitly there was no code anymore, but Marlo is just hateful and moving like he did, no way he’d be bossed up for more than a year

I'm actually re watching the wire. Right now I'm in the middle of season 2. I've noticed a few things.

-Season 1 Carver showed a few little signs he could grow into an effective leader.

-Season 2 I forgot that Daniels got pushed to the basement in evidence control because he went behind the bosses back to push the case federal. He was putting his papers in but Valchek needed him for his detail on Sabotka

-Valchek the biggest a$$hole on the series. Rawls had a redeeming scene comforting McNulty after Kima was shot. But there was nothing redeeming about Valchek.

He was gonna blackmail Burrell and prevent him from getting elected as commissioner after he found out from Prez he had the Barksdale case shut down prematurely. That's how Daniels got out the basement and on the Sabotka detail. Valchek requested him.

-D'angelo had to get killed. He was weak and if he wasn't family Avon would have been got rid of D

There’s one conversation Avon and Stringer have in prison where I think Avon is considering having D killed.

D doesn’t want to lessen his sentence after the hot shots and is distancing himself from everyone…Avon uncharacteristically asks Stringer for reassurance that he’s been fair to D.

It seemed like Avon was mentally preparing and justifying what he may do in the future.

Stringer just went ahead and did it.

Another thing I realized and this is huge. The property developer Andy Krawczyk was a snake.

In the 2nd episode of season 2 Stan is talking with Krawczyk complaining about Frank and how can he have a bigger stained glass window when the port damn near dead.

Krawczyk is the one who subtly suggest that Frank and the port are probably smuggling.

The port gets taken down and now Krawczyk has the downtown waterfront to build high end condos

But Marlo turned out to be right. Randy telling the cops about Chris and Snoop taking Lil Kevin up the alley is what lead Lester and Bunk to find the nail gun screws which is what lead to the whole organization going down. Randy is lucky they just didn't kill his ass in general.

Nah, Prez gave them that hint. Just finished season 4. I don’t consider a 13/14 yr old with a murder on his conscience confiding in a teacher to be snitching, especially since Prez refused to give up Randy when Lester and Bunk were asking Prez to give them the kid

It didn't confide on the murder because it was on his conscience. The principal was threatening to tell his foster mom about Randy being involved in the bathroom "rape" so he told her that he knows about a murder to keep her from calling the foster mom. It was a straight up snitch.

Randy literally told the story that got the entire operation shut down and Marlo on the radar

Nobody knew about the vacants on the law side until Randy told

Lucky that's all he got. Mike was around the same age and they was gonna put a bullet in him without confirming anything

Mike was part of their crew, put in work and knew shyt. Randy was a square ass civilian who spent 1/3 of the season thinking Chris turned Lex into a zombie before Dukie finally had to break it down. That’s not a threat that you seed the streets to target.
