Just watched season 5. Yea it was pretty trash.

McNulty and the serial killer storyline was terrible. Watching it made me realize that McNulty and Freamon are similar. Difference is Lester is so cool and smooth and McNulty just a gaping a$$hole.

There was some serious acting in this season. McNulty was killing it with his non verbal facial expressions. He lucky that Beadie stuck around.

Despite how bad it was there was still so many memorable scenes.

-Clay Davis taking the stand lol
-Prop Joe getting killed
-Cheese trifling ass getting killed
-Omar death
-Marlo jail scene
-Mike killing snoop
-Mike and Dukie goodbye and Dukie hustling Prez
-Probably my favorite scene was Bubbles celebrating his sobriety and his speech on grief

All in all I say the seasons rank as 3,4,1,2,5

Even though I really love season 2. You appreciate when your older

Season 5 could have really gotten ugly if not for Lester and McNulty and if Bond didn't fukk up taking the trial local.

So many elected officials were dirty.
Madam President Nareese Campbell
Levy
Former Mayor Royce
Burrell
Andy Krawcheck

All of them were embezzling money from drug dealers.

Freamon could have took down everyone

I mean shyt it was basically a smaller scale version of what we are seeing with the Epstein shyt. Cut the investigation off as quick as possible, find a fall guy and proclaim it all over because if people keep digging deeper it'll implicate all the people in power.

Just like how they leaned on Daniels to keep the case a drug case and to shut down the case once they found out they were chasing the money.

I know. That's why I really got a kick out of season 2 on this rewatch.

The Greeks are international traffickers that have multiple passports multiple names and who knows where they are from.

And if they are somehow close to being got they have FBI agents tipping them off

When Omar was killed by Kenard all he got was a little footnote of the murder in the paper then it was scrapped for space.

Then he was mistagged at the morgue. Some old white man had his name.

This was the best ending for his character. He's a mythical figure in the streets but that means nothing in the civilian world

I think at the very end after he killed Snoop that Marlo might’ve convinced him Mike had to be snitching…

But also hard to say because Chris never goes against or pushes back on Marlo so it may have been just that.

Naw Chris defended Mike until the end. This the last scene with everyone in jail.

Marlo tells Chris he ain't getting out. Cheese is and he wants him to round up muscle and kill Mike.

Look at Chris face. He know Mike ain't talking about the re-up but ain't nothing gonna change Marlo mind

Yea. An overwhelming majority of it’s audience discovered the show after it was over. shyt, the first season I watched was season 3 back when hbo had On Demand and would keep the previous season available before a new season started. Binged it in like 2 days. Then torrented the first two seasons and finished them in a week. I only watched season 4 and 5 live.

The series was very close to ending after season 3.....which is why the ending montage in the last episode had such a series ending feel to it.

Yea every season they had to re pitch the series to the HBO bosses.

That's why I give season 5 a pass. Apparently it was intended to be 12 episodes but HBO pulled the plug and it only got 5 episodes. Writers and producers had to condense all the material to fit 10 episodes.

Then they had plans for a season 6 and it was to focus on the growing Latino population. That's why Omar boyfriend was Reynaldo

I watched this shyt from day one live, HBO sabotaged the shyt out of this series with their OnDemand service. When season three started you were able to stream the episodes A WEEK before they aired and then used ratings as the reason of them wanting to cancel the show, hence the two years between 3('04), 4('06) and 5('08).

Simon wanted to do so much shyt with the series with spinoffs, Carcetti as mayor, and the newspaper were both supposed to get spinoffs but HBO pulled the plug on it for some reason. Also during that time Baltimore especially mayor Shelia Dixon was catching hell because of all the similarities of the show and the city. They were also about to go full blown with the corrupt police (GTF We Run This City) which is why they had the piece of shyt cop Walker as a recurring character in season five.

The story of this show got some fukking legs don't it :ohhh: and with Hollywood being so hell bent on remaking EVERYTHING I wouldn't be surprised if this show gets remade in at least 10 years.

Don't forget I believe it was season 4 leaking early as shyt. It might not have been the whole season but I think the first 8 episodes or something. That had to have fukked up the ratings too.

At the end of episode 4, season 1.

McNulty (showed up drunk to her house) wanted to fukk Kima, but he had to pump the breaks once Cheryl showed up at the door.

This nikka McNulty bruh lol.

The Bunk. "There you go giving a fukk when it ain't your turn to give a fukk" :comeon:

It was hilarious when he got the FBI profile.

His face the entire time was :merchant:

Excluding season finale scenes, is Season 1, Episode 6 the only scene throughout the entirety of The Wire that used Que Music?

I'm mainly specifically referring to the scene when Avon walks into The Pit, the majority of the music that's used during The Wire is organic.

Come to think of it, there are other scenes that would have had que music if they were from 95% all other shows instead of The Wire.

Bubbles and the red hat

The unit following Avon and getting outsmarted by him (Avon giving Daniels the finger wave)

Herc posing as a buyer.

Sydnor posing as a dope fiend

Carver and his unit chasing hoppers in the beginning of season 3.

Many more....as those just popped up in my head.
