Eminem. I was bumping the Slim Shady ep in high school after buying it online and told my black friends who he was. They clowned me for listening to a white rapper and then said his voice was wack and he sucked. A year later he got the Dr Dre cosign and My Name Is was on MTV and all them nikkas was chanting the chorus in the halls in between classes. Thats when I realized the sheepish nature of people.

Drumlines....i loved any type of drumline since my 7th grade year and was in the band playing trumpet. i eventually switched to drums and all the people not in band clowned us band people.Especially me because i lived in the projects. Fastforward to 10th grade and the movie drumline comes out.

Dreadlocks. I was the ONLY kid in Lansing , Michigan rocking dreadlocks from 12-15. I got into fights at school for kids calling "shyt locks " and making fun of me but I was a HUGE fan of Ziggy Marley when I was young (hence my nickname) plus Keenan from Keenan & Kel had them so I always thought they were cool. I cut them off at 15, moved to Atlanta and like 6 months later the dread scene EXPLODED and had me like

he means nobody was on the animw tip like they are today. i remember the mid 90s when that shyt started really pickin up over here with sailor moon, dragon ball, pokemon, ronin warriors, etc. i think when akira came out over here that got alot of video stores to start an anime section.
