Thinkin bout joinin tha navy

Now i know they say tha military is no place 4 a black man especially a young black man & i always said i'd never go but im really considerin joinin now.

I live ina land of no opportunity & i wanna make a better person of myself plus i know if i do go i'll finally gain weight & ima have all that navy training.

Anybody here eva been?

I saw on military.com they hada do 400 pushups & situps ina day on top of pullups & a 1.5 mile run

joining the military is the single greatest decision ive ever made (air force).

and NO 400 pushups and situps a day is not required, I dont know where to read that. Hope you can swim and dont mind being on a boat for weeks/months at a time

Actually i cant swim, i was told they teach u tho
& what makes u feel as if its tha greatest decision of ur life? & what kinna meals yall eat in tha air force?

Go for it. Only advice I have is that you attend a college/University BEFORE enlisting so you have more choices for jobs and enter at a higher pay rate/grade.

LOL @ 400 pushups/day. That would only happen if someone in your platoon (or you) fukked up.

Even then, it wouldn't be that many.....although it would seem like it.​

If you were going into the Marine Corps, you'd go through 'Swim Qualification' in the third week of Boot Camp. If you couldn't pass, you'd get 'recycled' back to Day One of training to start over.

IDK about the Navy, but I suspect something similar applies.​

Choice is yours. It's basically a $3k-$4k/yr. difference in pay and earlier consideration for promotions.​

24 paychecks a year, paid vacation, they pay you to learn the job, free college, travel on uncle sam's dime. But the military isnt for everyone, just my experience has been great.
