Thinking about copping an Audi A6, thoughts?

Been doing some research and it seems Audi has really been stepping up the A6. U.S. News ranked it #2 in the luxury large cars category. I love the interior in the A6 and the exterior lines look so clean. 28 mpg on the highway isn't too bar either. :ehh:

I just wish they would bring the higher mpg models to the U.S. I here they have models that can get around 60 mpg :sadcam:

I'd probably opt for the 2.0 model because I already know if I get the 3.0 I'd get in trouble plus its cheaper.

What negatives have you all heard about Audi's? I know it will not be cheap to maintain but I feel I can afford to do so. As long as you take care of your car it will take care of you. It also has the cheapest 5 year cost (depreciation, gas, maintenance, repairs, etc.) among all the cars in its class.

whether you buy used or new, make sure you have some sort of coverage throughout the ownership of the vehicle.

It won't make the car bulletproof, but when it comes time to replace a part, you'll have less headaches.

Mannnnn I keep telling myself to get a used one. I'm going to be on the lookout for a 2013 with a few miles on it in the next few months with everything I'm looking for. Never owned a new car though dam...

I believe they come with a 4yr/50k mile limited warranty. Are you suggesting in purchasing an extended warranty?

That's up to you to decide.

The A6 isn't cheap for me nor is the maintenance costs. It may be for you and that's great.

Just keep this in mind, cars have one of the worst depreciation rates of high dollar purchases. People do buy cars that appreciate in value, but those are rare. This is the A6. It's a run-of-the-mill Audi and will decrease in value once you drive it off the lot just like any other car. Don't consider a car to be an investment.

Ask yourself, if you drove it at a drag strip for fun, and you got into an accident, would you be able to recover financially because the insurance company would not cover anything due to the circumstances? If so, then the A6 is okay. If not, then you want to slum it in an A3 or A4.

How long have you had it? Could you estimate how many issues or how much money you've spent since acquiring?

And not sure if I follow you on the analogy.
