We're on the blood path now
So there's this ethiopian girl in my graduate class who I've been pretty cool with these last few semesters. I finally got a chance to really try to talk to her this class, so I took the opportunity to ask her for her number. I took some of our meeting of eyes and smiles and friendly chat to mean she thinks/might think I'm cute, so I decided to try her. Right when I asked her, shorty was like "don't you live two hours away?
" but we exchanged numbers anyway. At first I took what she asked to mean that she would be interested in talking, but the distance isn't attractive to her, but then I started thinking about it more and started to feel awkward and thought maybe she just wasn't interested the way I was.
Anyways, I texted her a week after I got her number, saying hey, but she never texted me back. I was instantly on some
shyt and didn't even bother trying to text her again. The next time we were in class I didn't say shyt or even look her way. Two weeks later, she comes to class and when she walks in I can feel her eyes on me. I look her way only to see her staring at me and smiling. We meet eyes again and she waves at me, obviously wanting to be friendly. I decided to ignore her again though, just because once a girl doesn't text me back I move on. I think she got the message because I could see she kind of looked disappointed when I quickly glanced at her when she wasn't paying attention. This was last week.
So anyways, today was the last day of class and we both had presentations to give. I go the whole class without talking to her, but when everyone is leaving I touch her on the arm and say bye. All of a sudden she starts talking to me, asking me questions about how long I have left in the program and asking me about other stuff. We start walking together, and the next thing I know she's following me to the student center where there's a bunch of restaurants. We keep walking without really having a destination, so I decided to invite her to have a smoothie with me. We end up walking to some bench and talking for like an hour. Mind you, I had class 45 minutes after our class had let out, but when we got to talking she just opened up completely. Even when I was trying to leave and she kept saying that she didn't mean to make me late, she would change the subject and I would be stuck talking about something else. Now throughout this convo she's smiling and laughing and being really open with me, so I told her when I was about to leave that if she's free, we should hang out this summer. At first she's like, that's cool, we can do that. Then she asks me if I hang out with anyone else outside of class. Then she proceeds to say that if I did we should have a group hang out
So then I told her that I don't hang out with anyone in our program, and she tells me that's okay and then tells me to text her sometime.
Anyways, I left her and went to class 35 minutes late. After sitting there for 10 minutes I decided to text her and tell her it was good talking to her. She replied the same back, so I decided to test her. I tell her that I had texted her before but she never texted back, and that it confused me and made me think she thought I was weird. She then tells me she's sorry about that and says that she doesn't think I'm weird. I tell her, good, because I'm not. And then the convo ends.
Not really sure what's going on in this broad's head. I think it's either she has a man and is keeping it quiet or she's not feeling me on that level and just wants to be grad school friends
What y'all think?
