Well thinking of establishing residency there (no state income taxes :blessed: and I can cop a gun :mjpls: ), will likely split my time between there, DC, and Cali

- what neighborhoods are close to being dense or walkable....I know that’s not really a thing for Houston or Texas in general

- where the bourgie black live and kick it

- been reading about neighborhoods like 3rd Ward and east downtown...seeing lots of new toWnhomes there but are these wack places to live?

- just how many months a year am I gonna die from insufferable heat? May to sept? March to Nov?

- how would you compare it to Dallas? I was just out there earlier this month, it was cool and seems a bit less southern, but all the black transplants I met, including talking to one of my homegirls who lived there 3 years all told me go to Houston...but Dallas is growing faster, kinda torn between the two as a Texas option

- am I about to run into blatant :mjpls: in Houston?

City is too white. Everyone from Cali loves it because it’s so liberal, but it’s the same issue with the bay, not enough black people

I wasn’t sure if you wanted a similar environment.

I lived in the Woodlands. A nicer area, but white. Around 4-5.

My boogie black friends come from Belaire.

The heat is crazy and humid, but most people get around with cars so you dont really experience it. The weather depends on the year. Like we had hot winters and random temperature drops. I never had a real “coat” because it never got cold cold.

I live in Spring. It’s like typical suburbia, the Woodlands is right next to it (a lot of money there, but reminds me of Scottsdale, AZ, and not in a good way).

However, shyt is cheap and I love no state income tax :blessed:

I’d say the weather sucks from May - September. The rest of the year is fine and sometimes great. I miss winter though, but oh well.

Go to Dallas. Houston is getting too crowded
Every city is...at this point it’s abiut which crowded city has the people and lifestyle you identify with.
It's cheap as hell to live here. The weather ain't the best but I'm used to it. Avoid Katy at all costs and you'll be fine, it's cac central. A good suburb would be Spring or The Woodlands. What line of work are you in if you don't mind me asking?
i want to live in the city’s less y’all got popping suburbs lol. I’m in tech, software specifically

Dallas is more popping I would suggest there instead of Houston. I just moved back to Houston 2 years ago and dying from boredom.

Black suburbs: Pearland, Missouri City, some parts of Sugar Land, and Fresno
Where the black people live in the city? Or is the black population in the city mostly the hood? Ain’t nobody trying to move to a new city to be sitting out in some boring suburb lol

Edit: and damn, I really kee getting conflicting info about Dallas and Houston. Dallas was ok to me, but I could see myself getting bored there. But I’m also trying to split my year in different cities so it doesn’t matter I guess

Check out Pearland. I have a house in Houston but plan to buy a house anther in Pearland in a few years. It's a different city and growing daily. You won't lose money if you invest in real estate out here.
