Where the black people live in the city? Or is the black population in the city mostly the hood? Ain’t nobody trying to move to a new city to be sitting out in some boring suburb lol

Houston suburbs are not like others. But most of your black population is near the southwest, 3rd or 5th ward.

Houston has changed drastically in the last 20 years..
Traffic is just as bad as the Bay due to transplants and economic growth..
You can walk in Galleria, Montrose,Rice Village, Upper Kirby, Medical Center, Off Main( near Fiesta and Reliant), The Heights,Parts of the Trey, Minute Maid Park area(but homelessness although not as bad as The City but certain parts look like the Tenderloin)..
Bougie Black People are in Mo City/ border of Sienna Plantation, Pearland..
But that can easily be said about black people anywhere in the H unless you trying to stay off of West Orem, Hiram Clarke, Bob White, West Airport, Bissonet or the SWAT(Southwest Alief Texas)..
Where it’s bad one street/ Nice the next..
Depending on which way you go..
And it’s culturally diverse..
Katy is trash..
Memorial/Bellaire:mjpls:
Especially Bellaire pigs:pacspit:
Chimney Rock, Hillcroft is where the eses stay..
But you will need a car regardless of where you are trying to stay..
As for the weather..
Summer last until late November..
And even then..
It never really gets cold/cold..
The last bad winter was in 14/15..
Sugar land, woodlands, king wood, spring are suburbs..
You will never get bored but have connections or knowing people in the “loop” of Htown entertainment goes a long way..
Food is the same as the Bay except ordering late night door dash..
A lot of places close by 10/11..
Be prepared to drive like a mad person..
The amount of dumb shyt you will see every 5 minutes..
Plus people love driving in the lane with you:snoop:
Overall Houston is great for raising a family..
Single life can be hard(but if you are an active person...
You should be able to find someone or at least a new hobby..
Cost of living is go up as well..
So don’t think you can move down here and pay $800 dollars for rent in either an apartment or house..
You will be living in the hood thinking that:russ:
But the square footage and amenities make up for it:yeshrug:
But many of these new townhomes, condos and luxury apartments are being built with thin ass walls..
Also just know August/September are when hurricanes are the most active...
If you rent or buy..
Get flood insurance..
If you find a neighborhood you like..
Make sure you look up the flood plan map to see what is what..
When it rains..
It rains and flooding is a huge problem..
We don’t have a vast public transportation system..
Yeah they are building monorails in certain neighborhoods and parts of downtown..
But Metro usually stops running at 12am..
I’ll think of more later..

Good info. I think imma spend two weeks out there next month to get a feel, guess I might do one week In the city and one in one of the burbs y’all recommended

And breh, I’m in the bay. Ain’t nobody looking for $800 rent. But knowing I can buy a new 3bd townhome for like $350k and still pay less on it than a one bedroom out here is :blessed:

Get a slab and rep, goto Dallas. You'll have no hurricane issues to worry about, I'm speaking from So. Fla right now.

Edit: and damn, I really kee getting conflicting info about Dallas and Houston. Dallas was ok to me, but I could see myself getting bored there. But I’m also trying to split my year in different cities so it doesn’t matter I guess
I hope you don’t to do your split time in Dc during the winter cuz you ain’t going be happy about that. I’d do winter month in Cali if I was you. Texas is aight for winter but if they get even a centimeter of snow, that city is fukked and shuts down. They can’t deal with snow in any capacity
