This 10 thousand steps a day thing

The one that everyone seems to be on. Does it really burn 500 calories? Or do you have to walk 10k steps all at once.

I used to do this, would lose weight like crazy when i'm on my random 800-1000 calorie diets. It helps when i'm on my feet all day due to work.

it depends on how much you weigh and how you are doing them
for example
taking 10,000 steps up stairs or at an incline is going to burn a lot more calories then just regular walking

Depends. You can easily get 10,000 steps if you're a city employee taking public transit and work in big office and be :flabbynsick: if you're eating too much shyt, that was me lol

It definitely won't hurt to do it, but it alone won't do much, especially depending how you get those steps - lollygagging vs walking briskly/running.

10k on flat land is great but 7k on an incline is better.

Heart rate would increase more and weight will be lost.

For my DMV folks, I walk from the White House to Stadium Armory at least twice a week and when I hit those hills around the Capitol :whew:.

It works I walk 10-15 miles a day for my job in Hawaii you will lose weight overtime the biggest thing is once your body gets use to walking that much you build a tolerance but I work with people who loss 30 to 40 pounds

Another thing you want to ask yourself is are you going to be walking continuously

Damm what do you do for a living? My gf and I went for a 71/2 hike thru a state park yesterday and my feet were killing me afterwards.
