On the way home from work a man is listening to a podcast that tells him every stupid thing he believes is true. The earth is actually flat, giants exist, vaccines are worse for you than the diseases they're meant to prevent.
He enters his home, prepares a meal, and keeps listening to his podcast while he settles in, then when he's done he watches his preferred news program. The only one he trusts because the rest of them are "fake". He's told he'd be a millionaire if it wasn't for people with different politics and appearance to his own.
He goes online to see who else feels the same way. Everyone on his Twitter page feels the same way and he's recommended posts by people posting more extreme versions of what he believes.
He then starts chatting with his A.I. girlfriend who tells him how right he is about everything. How smart he is, his frustrations are validated as he's assured that the problem is everyone else and not him. He goes to sleep, wakes up the next morning and begins his day a new. The first thing he sees when he wakes up is his phone screen. He sees the weather, then several click bait titles meant to encourage maximum fear or anger. He is starting off the day already pissed off.
He goes to work. The cycle repeats. This man has chosen to live in an alternate reality and is infuriated when he has to interact with anything that challenges the validity of this alternate reality.
21st century america yall. If I told people this is what the world would be back in 2008 I'd have gotten turned into a meme and nikkas would stay clowning with tin foil hat memes and shyt. Yet here we are. What a fukking joke.
