It's a selfless service. It's like being black and joining the military. Most people will never understand. That funky bytch and then lil b*stards wouldn't have eaten some nights, or had a roof over their head and the only sense of stability they would've known was struggle, but he didn't do it for them, he didn't do it for her. He did it for himself for reasons most would never understand. It's why people give their life to a church and go build houses and churches in other countries. Why men climb Mount Everest, or dare to sail across the Atlantic in a boat. It's not mandatory, it's not a necessity, it's a calling.

I don’t have IG so I can’t see it.

:patrice: Is this the one where the stepdad is cussing out the family while the kid keeps hitting him w/ the broomstick?
A breh says his step dad took him in along with his mom and two other siblings.

The woman asked if the step dad was a simp for that. He said nah but his mom said the step dad is a simp for taking them in and told her kids to never take in/marry a woman with kids

He did to get the woman . Wouldn’t call it selfless…….

If that was the case he would just join mentoring program

I’m a step dad of 13 years, took in two kids at 10 and 6, and now they are about to be 23 and 19 (their mom is very successful though, great job, true professional, makes good money too.)

They respect me, at the same time, I’m not their dad (and their dad was not in their life.) I have my son now too who is 9, and she allows me to be the well rounded parent he needs, with him. I’m allowed to be the parent my step kids needed then. They both are smart and really capable, but did not have direction towards college, nor a pure career.

I blame my partner quite a bit to be honest.

It is a thankless job, I could not raise them as my own because their mom thought it was only her responsibility for discipline. Yet I pay some of their bills, went to their sports games, did homework with them etc.

It’s a thankless job, and being through it myself, I would recommend to almost everyone, don’t do it, in retrospect.

It's like the saying the good die young. Society expects Good men to set aside their goals and to step up to back breaking work and you don't get nothing for it at the end of the day.:beli:

Thankless is definitely the word for it.
