I don't see why the 2 need to be mutually exclusive. You can be about your bread while keeping your reputation intact. It's the weak ones with little foresight that will often sacrifice long term success and burn needed bridges for a quick come up. They lack the discipline required to play the long game. Keep in mind that this is only true to an extent, as life changing opportunities often require swift action regardless of the character hit and/or the judgement of peers and/or family. As long as you're not kicking anyone who didn't have it coming off the ladder on your way to the top then there isn't much to worry about. Morale also varies from person to person; some people may sleep like a baby over shyt that would keep others up at night, so don't go down that road if you ain't about that life. In the end you have to do what's best for you and the things you hold dearest. Everyone may not always agree with your actions but :manny:

Money really just enhances what kinda person you are and what kind of people the ones' you got around you are.

If somebody backstabs you once you're rich they were probably thinking about it when you were poor so :manny:

Just make life what you want it and if you get rich on the way then I salute you.

Agree with everything but your first sentence definitely encompasses what I've been saying in this thread.

OP thinks preserving your reputation will mean a fruitful life:mjlol:

Trying to preserve reputation will drive you crazy. I've seen it first hand.

No matter how "good" you think you are, people will judge you by THEIR standards. No matter how selfish flawed and stupid they may be. You will always find somebody that hates you even cause you have a clear complexion and they don't.

Such is human nature. If it's not for money they'd be jealous of your wife, if not that it's be something else.

The evil is not in the money but what it represents. Mankind lusts power and as long as that lust exists there will always be a man ready to stab you in the face just cause people like you and they don't like him.

'Can't love the money like nikkas beside you..cuz when the paper gone you gonna slide too'….

I like money. Always have, since I was a little high school kid with a roll of 20's, paying kids to do my homework, and getting hotel rooms on the weekends, eating wherever I wanted. All my mom gave me was $20 a week for lunch. I want, and have a comfortable lifestyle (within reason), I like all the amenities money has provided me, I would like more…I always want to improve, my quality of life, and those close to me….I am not some stock broker wizard, have very humble background, but I am financially responsible and aware, it's always come naturally to me, but who I am without the paper is more important to me, then who I can become WITH all the paper. The degree of importance some put on money and work is disturbing, we only get this ONE life, and how many years we want, why spend it in a perpetual odyssey for the most money you can make? Like the say the streets don't you love you back, money doesn't either….

this society is gonna fall because of it....money can either empower u or enslave u....but most ppl are enslaved by it because they value material processions and image....they have no sense of self....

u got so many people out here feeling empty because have they drive a name brand car, or live in a huge house or have the designer clothes or latest tech....(esp blacks) but just america in general....

we consume so much and dont product anything....eventually this system have to collapse, actually it already has, its just held up by paper clips
I wouldn't mind going back to having farms n such
