ive never looked at an sos formula and treated it as gospel without looking at the schedule myself, but fsu has not played a top 5 schedule. fsu is undefeated, thats their case. whats hurting them is all of their best wins are close wins over teams that are going to be unranked. if they lose they will need help because they dont have the quality wins to compare against any other one loss team.
yes the best wins for other teams dont look as good as they once did, but fsu's are still worse by comparison. auburn was in the top 10 because they had a top 10 resume, thats no longer the case after this week. just like at one point some were saying notre dame was a top 5 team and notre dame was a quality win, now theyre unranked. i think some of you fsu fans are getting a little too worried about fsu going undefeated and being left out. id expect both alabama and oregon to be above fsu in the next playoff rankings and thats it. miss st has a quality loss, but their best wins dont look as good as they once did with a&m, auburn, and lsu all looking bad on saturday. if tcu and baylor havent jumped fsu already then they wont jump an undefeated fsu at any point because tcu doesnt have any ranked teams left and baylor only has kansas st left which wont be enough to jump fsu.

i'm like you, i just look schedule, i dont do the sos formula shyt....the only reason i brought it up is cause people like to say they're playing a weak schedule and point to sos...so i just like to point out that when the 'experts' use that formula, they have a top 5 sos schedule...
as for the close wins: that's bullshyt too....people just thinking of shyt to hold against the team....i know you've noticed people keep ignoring they beat clemson without winston...the nd was just a good game...as for louisville, they won by double digits, that's not close....if close games is bad, why dont people bring up that ala won by 1 over a bad ark team?..they dont, people ignore that...
as for those 1 loss teams: please name these impressive wins they have...i'm talking about osu, tcu, baylor, and ore...ala just got their impressive win against miss st, so i exclude them...and miss st just lost, so i exclude them....
aub lost to a bad tam team at home, they shouldnt have been top 10...just like georgia shouldnt have been top 15, they got drug by a bad florida team...but since they were 15, and aub was 9th, watch georgia be in the top 10 this week...which is bullshyt....
i do admit i think they even if they go undefeated, there is a chance the committee will leave them out...they set the stage for it with ore being over them...no way in hell ore should be over fsu.....but they used the excuse 'best team right now', so they put them at 2.....that means they can put ala (for beating miss st), ore, and miss st (losing a close, tough game at bama) over them too....which would put fsu 4....i'm not worried about tcu nor baylor, the team that scares me is osu.....they are the new media darlings......and if the committee uses that same bullshyt excuse, it wouldnt surprise me to see osu jump to 5th this week, and people start calling for them to be in over fsu....

I don't care what anyone says, the committee is letting off the field issues cloud their judgement when it comes to FSU. I don't think the Noles will be left out of the playoffs if they win Saturday but I do think they're locked into that #4 spot and match up with Alabama because the committee thinks that favors the Crimson Tide.
If Florida State squeaks by again and baylor/ohio state pitch blow out wins. They might get bumped down to 6th place
