A failed media and weak liberal opposition is the soil. What grows out of those conditions is fascism. The promise of fascism is this: " there are too many people taking advantage of our system. If we eliminate them, then there will be more for us. We deserve it because we are the TRUE citizens"

It's a loser's mentality. You don't want to compete against women for a job, so you'd rather bar them from working. You don't want to compete against international competitors who want to offer cheaper products, so you ban them from selling. You don't want to develop the mental fortitude to confront and make amends for the historical wrongs your ancestors committed to create a system of white supremacy you benefit from, so you just burn the books and ban the history. You don't want to understand how more complex the world actually is, so you'd rather ban any science that doesn't confirm what you already want to believe. You don't want to level up and learn other languages and make yourself more competitive, so you ban immigrants and other non whites in hopes that you'll have access to jobs you are VASTLY under qualified to have. If you kill all the people with disabilities, then that's money saved that would be going towards social programs meant to let them live their lives with some measure of dignity. It's all about hurting other groups to ensure that you get a special focus and privileges because you "deserve" them but they don't.

History has shown us what happens when you try to run a country that way. You lose. The south lost. Mussolini lost. Hitler lost. No fascist government has ever actually endured because at its heart it worships the appearance of strength rather than true strength. The romans were not a successful empire because they massacred everyone from a different ethnic group than their own. They were successful because they folded those ethnic groups INTO their own to the point where there were roman leaders of African and western European descent. Focus on what you can do about zoning laws, public transport, police brutality, voting districts, etc. The federal branch of government is a clown show that needs to just play out until mid terms come around and you vote to send people to Washington who will at least try to check him.
