After losing both parents before she was 19, this young woman shares her college graduation with them

Cliff notes.
Father died of sickle cell anemia just before HS graduation
Mother died of cervical cancer just before getting Associate Degree
Brehette now has a Bachelors degree.

So here's the question, that honestly, I feel uncomfortable even asking, but given the conversations here, I'd like to get thoughts on.

On a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being most broken), how broken is she? In other words, could she function in a healthy relationship like anymore normal 25 year old? Or does she need more time to heal emotionally and psychologically before attempting a serious relationship?

Depends on the person. Everyone handles death differently.

Probably lucky that the mom won't be all in your business.

we are all broken to a certain degree:mjcry:.

From the article it seems like she’s on the right road. She’s got a great support system around her and is ambitious.

Relationship wise, it’d probably take a long time for her to show vulnerability and to tear down her emotional walls (no pun) she may have understandably built to protect herseIf but, I don’t think she’s handicapped from her experience - we all seek moral support from our partner, patience and reliability.
