I can't believe I'm in here defending Madonna, but the point I think people sre saying is that you can't ignore her impact like she's a nobody. Drake has had a solid 10 year run with numerous hits in a social media age.
Madonna had numerous number one hits with only the TV, radio, and tapes available. Plus, she was at the very beginning of MTV. She was the Queen of Pop for 10 - 15 years in the 80s and 90s. When Gangstarr, UGK, and NWAA were creating their legend, she was right there in the pop realm at the same time. She was right there with Prince and Michael Jackson as Pop Icon.
Not about her being white. It's about facts.

nobody was really denying her career or influence so you ain't gotta rewrite her wikipedia bio in here...she was tryin to throw shots at B and Jay and got called out for it...
regardless of her legend, she lacks the pure talent of Beyonce...it don't take a stan to see and understand that...
It’s still going over y’all heads. Nobody’s denying that Beyoncé is not the coldest performing artist out right now and the fact that people are trying to compare her to MJ speaks to that. The way that the current Beyoncé expresses her artistry is right out of Madonna’s playbook. People are just saying give credit where credit is do.
And out of all Beyoncé’s discography, I don’t think I would have picked these two to match against Justify My Love. I mean they are good songs I guess but don’t light a match to the feels of Justify My Love.
Madonna doesn’t even sing in the song and it’s still one of the sexiest pop songs made.
