She was huge not because of her “talent.” She knew how to market and re-invent herself, having to because she has no legitimate musical talent.

I will admit...she knew how to keep her name out there when REAL talent like Janet, Whitney and Mariah came on the scene. But most of this was due to Madonna’s affinity for shock value and being scandalous. She could never compete with the real girls that had REAL talent
