well naming a beneficiary for specific property is basically the opposite as having a default next of kin that will inherit all your stuff when you don't have a will
but yeah that's messed up, they must not have had a divorce lawyer, changing beneficiaries/accounts/etc would be one of the first things they advise

When I got my divorce, I wanted to support my community so I got the first black lawyer I found. Big mistake. My boss was close friend with him and they go on weekend hunting trips together, I didn’t interact with him much but the few times we crossed paths he he was a rude a$$hole. Now the details are starting to come out dude got divorced and last night he got a call from his ex wife’s lawyer telling him he had to sell everything and give her half after that he hung him self. Now I hear from someone that hung out with him after work that they saw dude had Grinder on his phone
