This country is shyt because most people don’t hate the system, they just hate their position in it.

I hated coming to that conclusion some years ago. A lot of us don't really WANT to be rich or even what we describe as middle class. We like what is afforded to us in the middle class, for sure. For those of us wanting more, we don't always admit its more us wanting to be furthest away from poverty as we can be. If we can find comfort where we are, people are typically moderate in their wants.

The thought of falling into poverty...choosing bills over food, crying over a surprise $400 bill, stressing because your kid(s) are rapidly outgrowing the clothes you could barely afford to buy them in the first place...things like that are terrifying. We sprint from poverty and a lot of people externalize it in showing off trinkets. I always said I disliked my city but it wasn't until I was making good money that I suddenly loved it. If I was still pinching pennies to go out every few months, I would be miserable.

They’re ok with tax cuts for the wealthy because they believe one day they can be at the top looking down on everyone too. They don’t even care that the system is rigged. They believe they can still be apart of it.
I was thinking just the other day. A lot of people are okay with living in a fukked up world just as long as they sit on a pedestal. The desire to feel superior to other people is what kills any social progress. A lot of people don't want to live in a fair and equal society, because they wouldn't have anyone to look down on.

The problem is bad parents.

I never hear people from good households complain.
