Still my favourite game of all time. I still have vivid memories of all the different levels. The control is still pretty much unrivalled. It convinced me that games were art.
People dont wanna admit but this gen has been WEAK as fukk.
Less studios, bigger budgets, less creativity due to studios not taking risks because of production costs.
Even looking ahead. Sure theirs some solid games but its all old hat. Sequels, sequels, morre sequels and clones of other popular games with slight tweaks.
Another halo. Another uncharted. Another witcher. Another dragon age. Another littlebigplanet.
Ive yet to see a game that made mebecause it looks so original and fresh.
This has so far been the most creatively bankrupt gen. Its just the same games but with nicer graphics.
But theres no innovation. 3d gaming has already peaked. Video games have become so commercialized and streamlined that nobodies taking big risks anymore.
One flop can close a studio. Thats not conducive to innovation.

It's impact lasted a whole generation and influenced developers all over the world.
Sounds strange but id love indie developers to take a break from 2d games and put out some cool innovative games with ps2/gamecube era graphics. Hell resident evil 4 still stands out. And it cant be THAT cost prohibitive. Its time to go to virtual reality. Plus games are far too expensive to make these days and that is why most 3rd party companies from the PS1/ PS2 era are gone now.

I miss that gen.
