older gamers are common i know that, its just not too productive in my opinion.

nothing wrong with a little respite but i have never been a gamer, never saw the appeal of it outside its a great way to save money.
One of these days we on a conference call getting project updates i'm gonna wait for one of them (either the youngins or the old heads) to say he didnt finish his tasks because he didnt have enough time and i'm gonna be like "can you dedicate some of the time you spend playing PS4 in the break room for a week and catch up on your work?"

Let me not do that. I dont want noone slashing my tires downstairs :pachaha:

I hadn't owned a gaming console since I was a teenager in the late 90s. Ditched it when I was 19.

Then in 2012 I bought an Xbox because my niece was coming to visit me and I needed something to keep hey busy since I was OnCall for work that week. I then found one game I loved (Ace Combat) and kept it a few more months until I loaned it to this chick and never got it back.

I know grown ass 40ish and 50+ year old men who be all in on these shyts 24/7.:scusthov: Homie talking about "when Madden drops every year my wife just knows she's gonna be single for the next few months...":dahell:This a grown ass man bragging about this with pride:dahell:

At my job our break room has 2 or 3 60" inch screen TVs along with a PlayStation 4, a Nintendo Switch and the latest XBOX console for them freaks to sit there all day and play like this ain't a place of business. I be like I know I seen some of you freaks' project tasks submitted late as fuvk at times on our internal GitHub and you out here playing games, mother fukker?:dahell:
gaming was associated with kids in the 80s when it first came out. but guess what? those 80s kids are grown men who still maintain the hobby.

you think games like gtaV are for children? or horror games like outlast :dahell:
this isn't nintendo duck hunt anymore playa.

anyways with that being said. I like puzzle games like little nightmare, its the future we don't do crossword puzzles off newspapers anymore. I don't like board games either, prefer it virtual, my era.

I dont do online gaming, I used to smash my friends in mortal kombat, I started feeling myself then I logged in to these asian servers and got sexually assaulted, can't even get a single combo in :damn:

These nikkas came from strict ass parents. Seen many of them in high school taking pride in not playing video games. Nah your parents were just strict or you broke. And so they carry this attitude into adulthood. I haven't gamed for YEARS but..... I do know that gaming is now like movies and music when it comes to entertainment media, its for everyone... I agree back in the 80s and early 90s it was a "kids play thing." But now? I feel when baby boomers and the older Gen Xers finally perish gaming is going to become EVEN bigger. Watch.

nikka you Haitian. I KNOW what type of household you grew up in lol. The only cats in my HS who looked down on video games were the Haitian kids due to their strict ass parents. And don't get it twisted I'm part Haitian but grew up in a American household. Your parents probably didn't allow video games and taught you to look down on them. I knew MANY Haitian adults who looked at video games as some taboo shyt and is no surprise I see it in this posts lol. Not tryna attack you but your post reflects experience.

I use the Xbox for online and I only chat with friends or people I party up with through the universal LFG feature. I didn’t think in-game chat with randoms was still a thing after Xbox made party chat mainstream on consoles.

My PS4 is for Sony exclusives and weird Japanese games only. :hubie:

FFXIV is my shyt too but the mmo experience isn’t like your standard online game

:yeshrug: consoles have been a mainstay for late gen x and early millenials just as streaming is a thing for the young brehs mostly.
pretty much this. Im in my 30s and I don't think I have a single friend that doesn't have a console, its right next to the tv the way dvd players used to be in the early 00s.

shiet do people still have dvd players anymore? lol.

In moderation, sure. But 40+ and 50+ y/o men saying they literally disappear on their wives and kids FOR MONTHS to dedicate their time playing madden is... :palm:
Again, i play games too at times. Random Apple Appstore games and Google Playstore games on my 2 phones (iphone and android). Hell i play boring games like words with friends constantly at times. But i have also played strangers on words with friends. Like random women. Next thing you know we chatting on the messenger part of the game and end up meeting them in person and eventually smashing :lolbron:

You're right in some capacity about the strict part.

When i lived with my dad he used to take my Nintendo away and lock it up in a room during the entire school year and i would only get it back during summer break, Giving it back to me was his way of keeping me in the house rather than have me roaming the street. In that sense you are right. But even afterwards, late teens early 20s i bought another console. I just lost interest in the shyt. There are SOME games that pique my interest like Ace Combat, Hawx and a few other sports games. But again after playing them for a month or so and beating them i just lose interest. I posted above that i bough an XBox 360 when they came out and pretty much gave it away 6 or 7 months later.

Again it's just weird to me when i hear grown mofos spending a large portion of their time and saying shyt like "my wife considers herself a single mother the first few months after madden drops"

Breh I know MARRIED COUPLES in their 30s who BOTH game. A gaming console in their living room and one in the bedroom. I know plenty of female gamers. The only group of women I don't see game ass much are Black women. White, Latina or Asian hoes? I see them game ALOT lately. And no they aren't even the nerdy types at that.

Yeah them types is suspect , but put it in context breh. They probably out of child rearing age where them kids can do their own thing. And unless me and wifey got something we're watching together, or going out somewhere I damn sho will play a game for as long as I can with a few dranks :francis:

I honestly can't wait to my kids are old enough :mjlol:
