An asswhooping can provide a quickfix for certain problems but after a while it loses it's effect. My father who's Caribbean also thought the belt was the answer to disciplining me and my brothers. It wasn't.

In the end he realised that halting our social lives and taking our games consoles was a much more effective way of getting us to think and change our behaviour and I can say neither me or my brothers have ever been near a jail cell.

Although I'm glad I grew up when I did. How are parents not thinking of the consequences of filming this stuff and then putting it online.

@Willstyles logic is all wrong here. You are under the presumption that the father or parents are at fault here for not instilling certain behaviors or principles in the daughter. That's a strong statement to make without any proof or real reasoning. It does not have to be that he never taught her certain things or didn't reinforce it strong enough, kids are kids and whatever reason they go wayward at times may not necessarily be indicative of how competent the parents are at raising them. Also people can be taught and conditioned by beatings and pain. That's the whole philosophy behind operant conditioning and punishment. That being said I'm always torn by these videos because as a person that was beat as a kid I don't see this as being an issue but as an adult I can't really support why it's ok to beat children since it really is a form of abuse.

I always find it funny that the people on here without kids are always preaching their IDEALOGICAL philosophies about how to perfectly raise kids.

When one actually deals with raising a child the options of discipline seem to become more wide.
As with everything else in life it's much more difficult actually living it then just talking about it.

With all that said the father DID go to far, I could never see myself recording beating my child and hitting them in the face.

She 13 and acting up, who knows what she was doing to lead her dad to beat her with no caution of her face. Giving your daughter some licks while telling her to stop being "stank" is a great way to generate a plethora of other insecurities and issues that she will carry on for the rest of her life and replicate in other, ugly ways. That girls needs a grown black woman to sit her down and talk to her about self-respect, attention and love. Thank you, finally a female that gets it. Although the licks to the face, I'm sure he didn't mean, I think the way he was swingin the belt made it look like he was aiming for the face, but he was giving her body blows and when she went to block them, he tried to go above her blocks, but these idiots wish to make it seem like he was trying to abuse her.

This is the type of discipline that these kids need out here, because when you show them early on, there are consequences for your actions, especially young girls, who are treated like "Angels" in society, then you set in their mind the "Think Twice" mode as I call it.....or the mode.....
