This idea that older rap fans can never like new shyt has to stop (Poll)

As others have said many times, the 80s/90s are very intertwined. It's not until the 2000s that this hip hop shyt turned to straight pop. Which means that people who loved hip hop for what it is at its core (not pop), will find most new so-called "hip hop" reprehensible.

I realize that most of you have tuned out already with the "from a cac" part but some things to consider
a) Most of y'all are cacs. Let's not fake the funk here. You tune him out, you're tuning yourself out.
b) Some cacs have better taste in hip hop than Black people. Race of listener/communal experience matters when it comes to hip hop but only up to a certain point.

If he was 12 when Public Enemy came out, and it's impossible for any oldie to like albums outside of his generation, how come he has many 90s albums on this list (and even a 2000s album)?

Maybe it's possible that those 90s albums are actually so damn good that if you're a hip hop fan of any age, you'll fukk with it.

Maybe we oldies are trying to love the new shyt but it's so woat we just can't fukk with it. And the oldies pretending like everything is all good/cosigning frauds are actually out of touch like a muhfukka

I can give somebody a pass for not liking most of this new shyt on the grounds 99% of it aint as great as the old shyt,even the good stuff....As dumb as that reason is to me that you cant ENJOY some of this new stuff at least,or write it all off.

And the 2000's album he liked is Diplomatic Immunity,typical cac breaking the "real hiphop" character theve built up for themselves....Something about Dipset many of them just couldn't resist liking even if they wasn't supposed to,being they see themselves as some kind of pale gatekeeper of real hiphop.

In almost 40 years of hip hop nikkas can only name 15 great artists. 2 been dead for 20 years. 4 been making music for 20+ years. 1 overrated white guy

There just needs to be more artists doing different things

Last year I noticed a lot more effort from rappers with their albums than I've seen in the last 5yrs so maybe there's hope

The older generation prized lyricism and authenticity. This new generation gravitates towards look, energy and melody... I can't even hate but I do think that lyricism should be more important. I'll let the young nikkas cook though.

Not a "old head", but it's clear that these new nikkas pull the "You're old" card as a defense mechanism for liking the trash they do. Most of the time they can't even formulate an argument, or explain why they like certain shyt, which leads to them hiding behind clubs & bytches - "Oh that shyt bang in the clubs and hoes like it ". yeah. I don't think you can call yourself a true hip hop fan and not fukk with some G-Funk, Trap, Drill, etc. and not just "I listen to it when I'm drunk" bullshyt. I mean, "this is legitimately great hip hop in its own right and near/if not on par with the coast I normally rock with."
