Honestly I think this country will never get over that day. At least not for generations and generations.

I honestly think America already did get over that day, Osama got caught, the WTC site got rebuilt, etc. Its very rare to see people IRL over 9/11, and I live in NYC which was effected the worse by it.


I would imagine people that was in Lower Manhattan that day or had family killed in the attacks still be messed up over it, which is perfectly understandable.


I mean how many people care about Pearl Harbor these days? I was shocked those Dolphin players harassed a japanese man on the anniversary of that attack as it most people don't even acknowledge it.

a lot of people went to the roof thinking they would be rescued by helicopters

but in ny there not allowed to pick up people from the roofs

The people trapped above the crash site couldn't get to the roof as the door was locked, if you notice there's no photos or videos of people on the roof of the WTC on 9/11... Also choppers would have had to make multiple trips to get everyone out.


This is first time I ever heard that it was against the law for choppers to land on the roofs of buildings in NY... the South Tower had a Helipad. IIRC the people calling the shots just said no in regards landing choppers on the buildings after they was attacked.

People make tasteless 9/11 jokes/memes with the twin towers/WTC. This generation of 90s babies don't remember it or were too young to remember it vividly. 00s babies coming up have no recollection of it.

Eventually it will just be seen as a footnote in American history years down the line. People will never forget for historical purposes, but in the post 9/11 classist Disneyfied state of NY it's already forgotten.
