Imagine? :dahell:

That's the reality of it in most public schools. At least the ones I went to.

Fred.

Perhaps it is then, I stand corrected. it still seems morally off to me to enter teaching for money only...the social responsibility one wields over shaping young minds is waaay too high.

I guess the teachers I had certainly didn't treat us like we were just a paycheque lol. My HS principal was like Joe Clark lol. Some of my teachers were clearly crazy, but they were the exception. For the rest, it really felt like my most of teachers cared about us...maybe they just were some hellafied actors and actresses?

Of all my teachers from K to 12, I can only remember 1 who was not at least 30 years old; maybe the age of the teachers really is the deciding factor.

If this was a male teacher he would be reported to the school board and teaching license revoked. I had horrible female teachers in school not knowing most of them didn’t like me or they were out partying the night before fukking up my grade cause I missed one question wrong on my hw.
I hear you. No argument from me and sorry for your experiences - I have a son and I know how disproportionate the treatment can be. I remember one teacher was trying to tell me that he wasn't ready for kindergarten bc he had problem tying his sneakers, despite having above average marks on his assessment reports. They will try to scrutinize ever little action for black boys. Didn't end well for her when she tried me with that. Just saying. I put him in private school for a little while, turned out to be worse than public school, as far as the teachers - they weren't meshing well at all.

Judging by your spelling of "pay check" I'm assuming you're from over seas?

I don't know anything about that. In the 80's and 90's from kindergarten to 12th grade I went to school in midtown Kansas City, Missouri. The teachers for the most part didn't give a fukk and most of the school district lost accreditation at one point or another. Since I graduated half of the schools closed in the area. Including one of the high schools I went to.

So I'm pretty much :yeshrug: towards teachers shaking their asses on social media.

I don't do anything crazy online, but even just for some of my photography, I keep separate social media accounts. One of my friends works at a school, and I told him, watch it with all the crazy shyt he posts, and keep his stuff separate. As far as this chick, she definitely should have deleted her personal pics. And even though it doesn't look like she was on some pedo shyt, even the Fortnite messages were stepping over a line, and can very easily be construed that she's grooming these kids to do some pedo shyt. Sure, a teacher should be able to have a good relationship with their students. You're still supposed to be an authority figure. Not their best friend.

As long as teacher pay is shyt people like this are who we will get.
It’s not “shyt” they also get great benefits.

These videos also don’t take away from her teaching ability she is probably able/talented and went through everything to be certified. Her problem is she lacks professionalism and is a clout chaser.

From my experience a lot of teachers cared and go up and beyond.

You went to school a long time ago you had boomers teaching you and in an era where they was probably shook to come to work and a lot of kids were seen as “lost causes”.

Actually you're probably right. The vast majority of the teachers were white and the schools were 80-99% black and in the middle of the hood.

So that alone would cause a rift. Not to mention there was no young teachers like there are now. Yeah a lot of them act a fool but if you get one that respects their job they can relate to students a lot better than when I went to school.

Depending on where you live $70k barley gets you by as a single person. And if you're in an under served district, pay is more like 45k range.
If you a dumb ass who can’t manage money or got debt out the ass that’s the only way 70K won’t be enough as a single person even in a city like NYC.

There’s also a salary step veteran teachers are bringing in good money in NYC and several other major cities
https://www.uft.org/sites/default/files/attachments/Teachers Salary Schedule - 2018 to 2021.pdf

If you’re in an under served district your probably also likely in a city with low cost of living where you can live off 45K.
