The comments section to that video are the definition of toxic. Whole bunch of people calling for "reverse racism"
If that's what you truly believe, and in your personal experiences, these are the only liberals that you have encountered, that's unfortunate.
How is the black community faring thanks to the Democratic party?
The vast majority of white liberals don’t care that much about black issues outside of Twitter posts. But sometimes their interests intersect with ours. That’s the way I look at it.
I wouldn't cast the net as large as "most", but I have seen what you are talking about. I can't tell you anything different than what you have experienced personally, and I obviously think that there is alot of work to do. Our politicians need to held accountable, and if they are not, then we have more Donald Trump's. With the groundswell of grass roots orgs, and local activism, I think we can really make a difference now and in the future. We need to organize, and attack civil issues starting at the local level, and then we can move upward on onward. I am a bleeding heart liberal, and I agree, virtue signaling just to win votes will do more damage for the future than anything. All I'm saying is, let these folks cook first before passing judgements, most of these new elects are fairly young and have real history in the establishment before we go pushing them away let's see how they do in their cities/districts.
Ok, so there is no solution, just anger in knowing that nothing can be done about any of it.What's unfortunate is people like you continuing to give Democrats and liberals the benefit of the doubt, in spite of Black America still wallowing in gross levels of poverty and dysfunction due to systemic racism that they haven't done squat about.
At 47, Obama was fairly young when he became President, and he thought shyt was gravy until they told him to check his blackness at the door.
We really think its a W that Dems won?![]()

Facts
Ok, so there is no solution, just anger in knowing that nothing can be done about any of it.
What do you want me to say? That shyt is going to be better in a few years? That victories at the state level will do something about the millions of white supremacists who walk the streets and want you, me, and every other black in America dead? I'm really unclear what you are asking. A lot of black people suffer from this desperate need to believe in the possibility of America being their home and a place in which we can thrive and coexist among the people who stripped us of our identity and enslaved our ancestors in a system of genocidal labor. I mean, black people are really dancing and celebrating over a few meaningless victories in a system that was created by the people who stole our ancestors and enslaved them. I just can't grasp the delusions some black people feed themselves to keep their sanity.
Anybody who doesn't think this country was crazy different under Obama/Clinton and Bush/Trump doesn't pay attention to the news
