That’s a whole lie. I’ve been natural over 10 years. The only one day look is a wash and go. Anything else that’s more fully styled requires at least 2-3 days to set (braid out, knot out, twist out) if you’re not using heat, and you need to retwist/braid/knot during the week (sometimes nightly) to regain definition. furthermore a bunch of “natural” girls are still wearing extensions, clip in, ponytails etc. nikkas in real life don’t give a fukk about fake hair long as it ain’t sitting like a helmet and women gonna do what they want/need to do to achieve their desired look

Nothing is wrong with a wash n go (tho you will not find many 4c’s as you claim to know, who roll with a wash n go) but that’s not the go to when a woman is really trying to look good or special. Secondly, a wash n go is hard on your hair, the ends get dry and tangle, and can lead to a lot of breakage. I can retain about an inch of new growth over 2-3 months when wearing mostly wash and go’s. When I get a weave or leave my hair twisted under a wig for 3 months, I get 3 inches of retained growth easy.


And women who keep a wig/weave may not have great hair, y’all fronting like every woman has a long thick head of hair, plenty of women don’t just like men have hair issues. It’s acceptable for y’all to go bald, not so much for women, so if a woman feels better with a wig or weave to make up for thin, short, limp hair, then she should be able to do what she needs to to feel good. That has nothing to do with hating the texture of your hair and everything to do with hating your lack of hair

I'm suspicious of anyone who says shyt like this.

I know many black women with locs, afros, twists, braids, etc. that have whole black families. When I lived in a small city in my early 20s with like no black people, then yes I might be inclined to agree, but when I was back in the city that shyt was like 5% of the population.

If anything, in my experience as soon as I see a black woman with relaxed hair I'm NEVER shocked when she reveals a biracial child or non black spouse.
