Cliff notes

White dude with glasses says something profound, when in reality it's shyt most common, every day people have been saying for the past twenty five years.

In fact, I believe almost verbatim the same qualities attributed to millennials was originally contributed to the Baby Boomers

The term "Me generation" has persisted over the decades, becoming synonymous with the baby boomers to many Americans. Not all young adults were enamored with the lifestyle choices being offered to them in mainstream culture, however. The 1970s were also an era of rising unemployment among the young, continuing erosion of faith in conventional social institutions, and political and ideological aimlessness for many. This was the environment that precipitated gravitation toward Punk rock among America's disaffected young people. By 1980, when Ronald Reagan was elected President, a growing number of America's baby boomers had also begun turning toward conservative political and cultural priorities.

At the same time, the realities behind the label have not escaped notice. As Eastern religions and rituals such as yoga grew during the 1970s, at least one writer observed a New Age corruption of the popular understanding of "realization" taught by Neo-Vedantic practitioners, away from spiritual realization and towards "self-realization".[6] The leading edge of the baby boomers, who were counter-culture "hippies" and political activists during the 1960s, have been referred to sympathetically as the "Now generation", in contrast to the Me generation.[7]

I think that's being a little disingenuous. Especially since I saw this video and read some of the comments previously. The whole video isn't about the contributions of the baby boomers. It's a discussion of the technology today and how it affects the current generation and how there are consequences to technology. It's not simply a baby boomer vs millenials conversation. I think it's important to pay attention to the nuisances and the slight changes that have been occurring that has not only been affecting the young adults of now but also what's the come for our future kids if we don't pay attention to the signs of today.

What he's forgetting is that everything has changed, including innovation

Those ideas still pop up in our heads but it's just an improvement on technology
Very true.

However, while we have truly revolutionized communication again, people have less in-person communication skills. He makes some good points in regards to social media (new in the past decade) and how it stunts emotional growth and accountability.

Eh I think he's makin too much out of it

I think that people are pretty active these days...especially when it comes to working out

There are more people exercising today than ever....that is a person-interacting community

There are millions of nerds that meet up at fast food restaurants and play yu-gi oh or some shyt

There are more recreational things today in society than ever...and those things are usually done through personal interacting

Relationships are still being built but not through small talk

I noticed a lot of my peers and classmates from high school are still friends and I think that's because friendships for millennials form a lot earlier....the older generation didn't understand us so we bonded together to be happy

I agree with the stuff he said about millenials but at the same time I think people also look at the past through rose colored glasses. Statistically the 80's and 90's were much worse except in 1 category which is jobs

Working out?
The World Factbook — Central Intelligence Agency

Meeting?
Only via apps and shyt. I've been to a few and have worked/work in that tech world. They are very condescending and impatient

But there is hope when they meet an old-timer like me; I can speak their language and teach them mine as well

BTW i haven't had a phone in about 1 year and life doesn't suddenly get better. Most people around you are in theirs so it just makes you feel like you need one even more
