I've seen more than a handful of times hospital refuse care.
I hate to defend police but I've personally seen a situation where they were like "this person needs to be seen" and the hospital was like "

no".
And it's dumb. It's fukking foolish. Yeah the hospital runs all the tests, disconnects the patient from the monitors and discharges, it's really nothing but their time if they have to hook them up and go through intake again, which is actually an understatement because smaller facilities may not have the staff or equipment to continue to go through that again and again and again. From a citizen/patient perspective, id hate to be in a car accident and rushed in, only to have to wait for an X-ray, ct scan, MRI, or really anything because a person who's homeless and cold, or a patient they see 10 times a month or someone who just left, came back or is refusing to leave and now those resources are unavailable to me, or I have to wait.
Hopefully that hospital cuts a check.
