The institutionalized racisim, classisim, poverty, structural inequality is a the largest factor which creates the environment where women have children at age 15, black, white, mexican, whatever. Poverty doesn't really discriminate that way. So, it's really a simplistic, knee jerk reaction to blame her for the choices.....She didn't make good choices, but she's just doing what's easiest for her socioeconomic class... her choices weren't shyt to begin with, because she grew up in poverty, below or just above the line. Blaming people like this is akin to Republicans calling for end to welfare, medicare, planned parenthood, etc etc. I remember girls in middle school getting pregnant, maybe all of them were just whores and sluts, or more likely they are product of an environment where a young mother is common, and accepted, and sex is a recreational activity from 12 and up. The fukk do people think will happen? And the 'good jobs' are scare, and mainly industrial, janitorial, and the real money is in moving work, or pimping. If you don't change the enviornment, this never changes, and both sides life out their lives hating/envying the other....it's really a twisted cycle, if you can see it.

She has a job

Gets 11k in benefits

Gets 3k to 5k for income tax cause of her child

SHARES rent/bills

She ain't strugglin, foh.
this is basically what it's all about right there breh. i want companies like mcdonald's and wal-mart to have to pay a living wage because i want less tax dollars being paid out in benefits to people who work. that's wealth distribution from taxpayers to rich corporations. the more she makes the less benefits she gets. as it stands now she has no incentive to even do an apprentice program that's going to be paying her $10/hr to learn because it's not going to add anymore money to her overall financial picture. obviously someone as shortsighted and incapable of good decision making won't see an apprentice program as just a temporary step to a higher paying future.

and whenever someone posts some bullshyt about "how are poor people suppose to afford college?" i just shake my head at the ignorance because they probably don't even know what a FAFSA is.

i just hope her baby daddy passed on some athletic genes to the son because they are doomed otherwise.

p.s. isn't birth control free now?

p.p.s. i didn't really notice the jordans until reading this thread, but i think people focus on things like that because it's a reflection of her character. a one year old will love any shoes you put on him. if shoes from payless cost $10 for a growing boy and jordans cost $50 that's $40 WASTED by someone claiming to have nothing. but they feel that if their child is in jordans that's signaling to their friends that "i love my child". are people like that lost for good or can we teach them and would they be accepting of advice that basically is telling them they are a fukk up and don't know how to make good choices? this shyt is beyond me.

That's the point. She's asking for more hours too.

She obviously doesn't have the right job tho. If the hours are not there, you keep looking for a better job as if you don't have one to begin with.

But like I said in my first post, this chick clearly needs a mentor to guide her in the right path. She doesn't come off as the most driven or motivated person (i.e. showing up to work late), suspect spending habits, bad diet. Some people just need to be pushed a little. I see some desire in her to improve her situation but needs more focus. Just gotta find the right chubby chaser to whip her into shape.

I'll play devil's advocate here and say that she probably got the jordan's from goodwill or some other thrift stores. You can definitely get lots of name brand shoes and clothes at affordable prices from these stores.

let's assume it is and that you are the person i'm talking about. you are the last person that needs to be on a moral high ground bc of the bullshyt that you pulled in real life. theoretically, if a female did to me what you supposedly did, they would have retribution coming. and i'm not talking about some forum shyt right now. i won't try to expose you or anything but just know what kind of person you are. Of course, if it isn't you, then disregard the whole message.

Yeah because college is feasible for everyone, I'm sure getting in debt at white mans college would have completely changed her life :rudy:
community college is basically free esp if you're poor. Apply for financial aid, and you can even get a refund check (which you have to pay back)

Even if you do pay outta pocket, if you applied for financial aid, you'll get a refund check with the amount you payed in addition to the amount leftover for tuition (which, again, you still have to pay back)

sorry but this is a shytty excuse

it doesn't matter. As long as the person is willing to take advantage of the resources there, then I believe that they can better their situation.

It happens all the time.
:russell: I know plenty of people who went to college and ain't doing shyt in life. College isn't the defacto end all to poverty; especially for black folk who most likely will be working in a system of white supremacy
