If she can get 11k in benefits, she can get financial aid for school. No excuse to not be in a nursing, or dental assistant program. Poor people have more help with their situation than middle class people do.


Also receiving that much in aid disincentivizes her from getting a higher paying job(say 10-13hr), since the value of the lost benefits would outweigh the higher wage.

BINGO!! I used to envy my poor friends in college because they would get full tuition paid for and a fat 5-7k refund check on top of that. Meanwhile me and my middle class boys had to work 30-40 hours a week to pay our $500 rent. Thank god for the GI bill or I would've left school a long time ago.

if you working 10 hours a week and a sister to help with the kid you could definitely be grabbing another gig. and there are programs for free/discounted daycare for low income parents I know this for a fact.

The point isn't how she could have avoided it, the issue is how does she progress? I personally know people her (our, I'm also 22) age in far worse positions and the only advice anyone can offer them is "you shouldn't have had kids". Just goes to show its easier to condemn someone and be done with it.

Enroll in some type of nursing school, community college, trade school etc. If she's only making 6k a year from her job I know that refund check from those grants will be FAT. She could pay off rent for the year and still have some left over. It's gonna be hard work with having to take care of a child since the ain't shyt daddy is locked up but in the end it'll be well worth it.

What is done is done. Therefore discussing the gym shoes on her sons feet is not going to help her situation at all. It is completely unproductive when you don't even know if she was the one who bought the shoes.

What is productive is discussing solutions for her given her current circumstances. That can be done in a way that is not degrading or dehumanizing.

You shouldn't be on such a high horse as supporting the murdering your own children is a far worse sin than having unlawful sex. You need to worry about why your own actions have been completely irresponsible. You think that killing your babies gets you off the hook but it doesn't. Your reckless sexual behavior is just as foolish as hers. No one should be having sex with the notion that it is free, casual, and comes without responsibility.
