Not to tell anyone what they needa do with their life, but if I was in a situation like this I'd relocate for work. North Dakota trying to build up it's workforce, average wage even to work at like Target and shyt is $1.50 over minimum wage. It's important to be looking at what your making over minimum wage rather than the actual number you're making, because prices of a livable wage in a state are usually based off min wage. That being said, places where you make more like NY got that high rent too... Like yeah it would suck to move away from family but you gotta chase the paper. Put yourself in a better situation with a lil nest egg saved up an move back when a better job reveals itself.

U must do prerequisites, and the prerequisite to apply for the nursing program has perquisites itself. So while u might get into an actual nursing program that can be done in 2 yrs that's only after you've done all of the other classes that u need just to apply. This would be for the RN and BSN. For LPN it's not as much.
And RN, BSN earning potential can be much, much higher than 30k.
Nurses can make upwards to 110k depending on the degree, their location,speciality and skills

If she can get 11k in benefits, she can get financial aid for school. No excuse to not be in a nursing, or dental assistant program. Poor people have more help with their situation than middle class people do.
Also receiving that much in aid disincentivizes her from getting a higher paying job(say 10-13hr), since the value of the lost benefits would outweigh the higher wage.
