Sometimes, they don't want guidance though. I know from experience. I have a half sister. My dad fukked a hoodrat and had a daughter. She grew up in the ghetto. For all of her life, I've always tried to tell her what she can do to better herself, especially when she turned 15, I started talking to her more. At 19, she had a kid.
So what is she doing every day? Posting on facebook, fighting with her kids dads other girlfriends. "See me in the streets bytch, these hands are waiting for you". Same shyt every single day. I talk to her about how shes a mother now and that she needs to make a better life for her daughter. She posts, "I can't believe he just kicked out me and his daughter at 3 am, where am I supposed to go?" I offer to take her to the bus and send her to her mom in the next state. She declines. Days later, same shyt, "fukk you bytch, I'll have my man when I want, we got a family thing going on". No matter how many times I tried to talk to her, it was always the same, "ok brother, I'm going to do better.". Next day, "fukk my babys dad, hes a deadbeat piece of shyt". Three days, later, shes asking him for money to go to a concert. Tried talking to her again, she deleted me.
Cool. I did my part. A year later, she messages me, "Hi brother, I've been thinking about you and your family, I miss you guys. *insert sad face*". I message her back, "We're good thanks, Hope all is well for you and your kids.". Yea, now its kids, plural. She had another kid by some other dude, got pregnant 4 months after having the first one.
These broads don't want guidance, they want shyt handed to them.

Yeah but you can't make a broad generalization based on your one anecdote. Sure, some people who are poor make bad decisions and aren't trying to better their situations. But some others are born into a shytty situation, and struggle to escape it. You can't project your views of your sister onto all poor women....I mean, you can...it seems like that's exactly what you're doing...but you probably shouldn't.

That's rough, breh. I have cousins, distant relatives, etc. that go through the same shyt. I have also worked in jobs with women going through the same shyt too. Be 23 with 3 kids being a cashier, making $9/hr.

A lot of these people are a lost cause by 15. Is your dad in her life?

:what: It only takes one time to get pregnant.

I know a chick who got pregnant the night she lost her virginity. She only had sex 1 time.

But based on you, a perfect stranger, she was a complete slut getting smutted out raw by the whole football team every night. :rudy:

Were you abused as a child? Scared to smile? They called you ugly? :scusthov:
None of what you said, takes away from the fact that its a choice, unless the girl was raped. We learn this shyt in middle school. Not abused, Had braces, called handsome with the pretty eyes. :whew:

Hes dead now, but when he was alive, not really. He was an addict. For some reason, she has this fairy tale version about who he was. "My daddy, my daddy".

We need to be thinking big picture. We gotta elitist oligarch trying to take the White House and make shyt like this the status quo. On the other side of the row we got another elitist posing as an advocate for everyday people who also wants to increase government dependency.

There are always gonna be people who slip through the cracks but under this current system politicians are trying to make the cracks bigger and easier for everyday people to slip in.

When you are young it only takes one stupid night to fukk up everything. There needs to be more support to ensure that young people are allowed to get on steady feet and begin their life on a solid note.

Humans in general tend to be at times overly optimistic and over estimate their own abilities. So stories like this will continue to happen until laws and economic policies change to more accurately reflect people's actual decisions in life.

Back in B.C. times christianity was promoted because it became an effective form of population control via morality.

Now that people are less religious, there needs to be another method to help promote contraception compliance in the general population. Something has to give.

Humans similar to other animals operate on leader/follower principle. The problem right now is that the leader in the White House cannot appeal to the vast majority of Black folk, his hands are tied and his term is over.

Black people are not going to follow a White Man. So the only solution to this problem is that a Black leader needs to be supported and appointed. But we are too busy scrutinizing Dr. Umar Johnson because of the sabotage attempts of conscious strippers.

No leader is infallible, but we have to appoint one soon, otherwise we are fukked as a people. Even Jesus was not perfect.

I hope that you do. It takes that kind of mentality mixed with a tiny bit of luck.

Just remember if you don't you are not supposed to have the answers in your 20s anyways.
I know what you mean, but I have been socialized to have my life together at an early age, it's partially my friend group, and a personal drive for better. One of them women I'm interested in is an MD-PhD candidate at MIT and she's only 22, why not act as her peer. The rest of my group of associates are college graduates or near college graduates, most have cars, a few own houses, no one lives with their parents and the only one who isn't starting a career is in law school while bartending on the side.
I don't accept personal failure.

:camby: I grew up poor. So poor, that in the 8th grade, I had one pair of pants. Those shyts were blue Levis. By the end of the year, they were white. So no, I'm not an outsider. I've been there.
And you were one of the lucky ones who "made it out." Thats the problem with this meritocratic ideology is that it tells us that if you work hard you too can achieve the "American Dream." What it implies is that if you don't "make it" that its your fault. Studies on poverty, and upward mobility in the black community don't support your anecdotal evidence on the issue. You think everyone who is rich got rich because they worked hard? You think everyone who is poor became poor by not working hard enough?

Yikes at some of these comments. How is "she shouldn't have had kids if she didn't want to get in this situation," any different than, "he should have pulled up his pants if he didn't want to get shot." There are so many factors to be considered when we talk about single motherhood, and how this young woman ended up where she is. Its also interesting how she's being shytted on, but the father (who is incarcerated) hasn't even been mentioned. Wonder why.....

I'm quite sure she knew what kind of guy he was before she let him have sex with her. Then why have a child with him if you knew his lifestyle would most likely make him an absentee father?

:camby: If you don't know by the age of 15 that having a kid at a young age, while you are already poor is a bad choice, you belong in a mental hospital.
