The Chinese and Mexicans seem to have no problem surviving on this kind of money. See them do it everyday. This proves that CACs have truly succeeded in making us less resourceful, independent, less innovative. We used to do it too in the deep south back in the day.

The worst part about all of this is this Woman nor any other Black person in this environment has retained our ingenuity and ability to hustle that we displayed in prior to integration. Blacks used to be a lot broker than this.

This supports my belief that the end of segregation was actually meant to knock us back another 100 years in progress when we thought it would be the exact opposite.

My grandmother has survived on this kind of money when she was younger and is 80 years old and strong as an ox. There was no frozen tv dinners in the mid to late 1940's.

We need to wake up and see this is beyond this individual Woman's life decisions, this is a deliberate condition set upon us systemically. Our minds have been crippled, this is far worse than any sort of economic oppression.

I know what you mean, but I have been socialized to have my life together at an early age, it's partially my friend group, and a personal drive for better. One of them women I'm interested in is an MD-PhD candidate at MIT and she's only 22, why not act as her peer. The rest of my group of associates are college graduates or near college graduates, most have cars, a few own houses, no one lives with their parents and the only one who isn't starting a career is in law school while bartending on the side.

We can go back and forth until the end of time whether these places should raise their wages. The fact is they are not going to unless forced. And they are not going to be forced because Congress isn't going to pass a law doing that while Republicans are in power.

And even if at some point in the future the minimu wage went up, so would the costs of many things. That's how capitalism works. This woman's story and many others like it need to be shown to all freshman in high school. You must make better decisions in life because corporate America does not give a fukk about you and your financial struggles, especially if you are on the bottom as it pertain to work skills.
