im not saying rap started it and my statement that rap is the worst thing is off looking back, but rap helps keep it going like nothing else. it justifies them on some "u see? we were right all along! look at how they love rapping about violent stuff and look at all their shiny things and look at all the white and light skinned women in their videos! not to mention the marijuana smoke!!"

rap is not the genesis of discrimination thats not what im saying but it definitely does nothing to ease it. it only throws gas on that fire.
I agree with you but, in this society, a strong black man will always be seen as "bad", until things change. I can't blame rap for that because I seen firsthand how people treat soft black men, and strong black men. I don't care how a rapper portrays himself, if he is showing strength, it will be seen negatively because, I have a theory, racists have mental problems, so they are always on edge. They need to control their environment, so anything that gives the impression that it can't be easily controlled, they find ways to make it seen in a poor light so others don't do it, and they lose control of their environment.

If what you say happened very little before rap, I will agree with you but, blacks played the docile game, and got their towns burned down, people killed, and had to start from scratch. In the ferguson thread on this website they showed how media showed black men as cocaine users who raped white women. They did the same thing for weed, and jazz listeners. JAZZ! WTF? They made public officials look bad, and told whites don't vote for them. Even had them portrayed as devils with horns on their head. This was when blacks didn't do any kind of violence against whites, held their heads down when they walked past a white woman, or just crossed the steet and never talked to a white man eye to eye. I can't believe blacks had to go through this, and these people are still alive, it isn't like it was hundreds of years ago, it was only over 50 years ago that the laws changed but, some places still kept these attitudes until the late 70's, and some to the 90's. Knowing all of this happened during those times, I definitely can't say rap gives them an excuse. Technically it does but, they will always find a reason, so in my eyes, rap is no excuse.

Now, for blacks we need to deal with how its effecting us, and how we see ourselves. Because I do feel it has changed the way we deal with each other, but for racists, that isn't the case, they will always see us negatively. Because of this, I could care less of their bullshyt reasons why they have a problem when they see such, and such. Because I seen what they did when we played their game, I could care less how they feel when we don't.
