Thats top secret information
It was kinda sad watchin Redman, EPMD, Rev Run , DMC , KRS One, Rakim, Melly Mel and Ice T put out albums and songs that no one cared about in the 2000's. ( Although Too short did make noise with "Blow The Whistle")

But in this decade Jay Z dropped Nikkas In Paris with Kanye....Juicy J had a Hip Hop hit and a pop hit...Fat Joe made yet another comeback way after his prime and Eminem was all over the radio with Rihanna. Plus Hip Hop fans are ready to embrace yet another Nas album.

What??? Half of the guys you named weren't 40 in the time period you are talking about.....EPMD (erick sermon nor parish) were not 40 then, Redman wasn't 40 then, neither was Rakim....some of those guys are only in there early 40s/mid 40s NOW.

But if you want to talk about "old rappers" having success....

Old ass Dre was on a few singles....

Busta Rhymes had this...

LL Cool J had this record in 2004...

There is tons of examples of 'old rappers' catching fire.

Because these last few generations have produced very few elite mc's worth carrying the torch. It's not like when Snoop, Nas, Pac, Jay etc came on and made better on the foundation that past rappers laid. Then the late 90's early 2000 rappers like Jadakiss, DMX, Luda, T.I., Jarule, Feminem were cool but didn't surpass their older competition and kinda faded into obscurity. Since then the new commer classes have been even more slack.

That's why we still have relevant 40 year old rappers because they are still the peak of the genre. It's the body of work and skill that carries forward for a legendary career not hits and fame which is fleeting. Hence why we still wait for a Jay and Nas drop.

All these nikkaz chasing hits ain't gonna have long term careers when it's all said and done they fade with whatever wave they rode in the game. The art of crafting albums is lost on many. The long term mentaliy is not understood. It's a revolving door of mediocre rappers and disposable music now.

What are you even talking about you weirdo :dead:

Facts:

EPMD hit 40 when their last album We Mean Business dropped

In the 2000s, the time you are referencing in the first fukking line YOU typed, Eric Sermon was 33 when 'Music' dropped and he had a hit single.

Redman hit 40 when the album Reggie dropped

Redman was born in 1970 breh. In the 2000s, he was not 40. Talking about facts and you don't even know simple math :snoop:

Rakim hit 40 when The Seventh Seal dropped

That album dropped at the very tail end of the 2000s, barely in the range YOU SET.

:snoop::snoop::snoop:

Dr Dre was in his 30's when he did that song u posted and so was LL...Dre hit 40 in 2005 not 2001 fool..

That's right you idiot. The same age as them in the 2000s you were referencing :snoop:

Here is your actual quote

Man, woman, and child
This is becuz hip hop has grown up in a way. The fans have gotten older. There's a whole generation of us in our 30s and 40s who grew up on it and it's all we know. Kinda like how video games isn't just a toy for kids anymore

It's crazy thinking that the biggest rappers these days are either pushing 30 or already passed that mark. Rappers used to be considered old if they were past 25. New rappers used to always be in their teens and early 20s but we're seeing new rappers much older than that
