Want me to keep it a buck. Theres a certain population in nyc that is contributing to that overpriced rent problem. :sas2: nobody wants to call these financially illiterate adults which are usually gentrifier transplants that are willing to actually pay for that bullshyt ,subletting, roommates or not. Regardless if they have the resources to pay for it or not, the fukk are yall even paying 5,000 dollars for a damn apartment for? NYC isnt that great to be paying all that money. Got people forcing themselves to live with roommates like theyre on a college dorm just to live in nyc. :snoop: theres people acting like they have to move into NYC to pay for that. :picard: they wouldnt be charging like that if there werent fools willing to pay a thousand plus for a small ass room with roommates.. hell no.

To me, its a lack of personal accountability. Stop paying for that bullshyt

"And who approves of all of this... the City council. And when people ask what politicians do I trust? None"

And these #VoteOrDie advocates will be like
200.gif
when they come across videos like this. Then at the same breath get mad at people who are #BothSides :wow:

This is the problem in my city too
ALL of the new construction buildings are luxury units starting at like $2k+
plea coppers say it doesn't matter that they are so expensive since more units still == increased supply and put downward pressure on existing units
I guess logically that COULD make sense, I just see zero evidence for ultra expensive new units driving overall prices down
It's just creating an environment where existing units are already expensive and the only new units coming on the market are even more expensive than that :dead:

Unfortunately, this of happening worldwide.

The developers do a bait and switch too. They promise the city that they will include a great number of affordable units. Then when the building goes up, they reduce the affordable housing. Some even have a "poor door-
"affordable units" and POC worker requirements are the biggest scams in major metro development programs
affordable unit is obviously relative and even then they do all kind of shady shyt like you mentioned

My city had a program that was supposed to empower black developers but a single black guy, who has a relationship with city council, won the bid. Got a cac construction company to do the project and hired all hispanics for the labor. Black people in the city was coming at his neck for the bait and switch (leading up to the bid he made a big deal of hiring and training an all black construction crew) and he had the nerve to get on IG and talk about how HE is the black person benefitting from it on some technicality shyt :dead:

This has been going on for over 25 years….

We can go back to the 90s when nikkax flew the coop once rent hit 1,000…

Clinton opened shop in like 99? 00?

Dude is an old man. Where were you in 03? 09? 14? 21?

You’re just now realizing what’s been happening all this time? lol

A lake near Tampa FL
It hurts to see my hometown have these problems :mjcry: I miss that place so much :sadcam:

Also, it seems like in every city I follow all new construction apartments is luxury apts. Like there's luxury apartments built at the intersection of Flatbush/Glenwood in Brooklyn :what: I love Flatbush but I would not want to pay luxury apt prices to live in THAT part of brooklyn. Park Slope or somewhere downtown BK where it's nice yeah but not an area that damn near the hood :mjlol:

I'm glad I live in what thecoli considers the middle of nowhere. Ain't no way I'm trying to live in one of these major cities. I don't need to be in the middle of the action.
Its fine when you're older. When you're young living in the middle of nowhere hurts your dating prospects and social life significantly
