There used to be a time in the past men could work an average job and made enough to provide for a mortgage, family, etc while the mother stayed at the house and raised the kids. Then women got introduced into the workforce and the value of men's labor became greatly diminished.

You're romanticizing the past. If you didn't come from a 'decent family' you weren't getting married. Dating wasn't even the thing we recognize it as today until probably the 70s/80s. It used to be that you got married after less than a few months. The expectation was if you want sex you had to be married, so lots of people got married to people they hated because they didn't want to go without cheeks. You had wild amounts of cheating and resentment in this situation. Why do you think divorce rates exploded after no-fault divorce came onto the scene ? Turns out getting married because of horniness and social pressure wasn't the best idea for a lot of people.

If youre an average man your issue should be managing your own home and making enough money to protect yourself in this shytty economy. Dates will cost you time and money you don't have if youre broke in this shytty economy.

Centuries ago - an average man was wiped out of the gene pool, or could lose his wife to an invading army of foreigners who came and sacked the city.

That’s also why love wasn’t much of a factor for ages in marriages. It was too easy for some mf to come in and shatter that love in front of you and leave you dead, or the natural disasters they could barely see coming, disease, predators sometimes, life was tough.


I’d say these days are still more relaxing for the average person to take their time and find people mentally compatible with them, and it doesn’t matter if you’re ugly either if you remember to think of your pool of options in the hundreds of thousands (because it is technically, it’s soooo many people out there).

For the average $ aspect if you’re in a big city you’re fukked due to the insane COL but you’ll eat as an average looks guy due to those cities have a good ratio of men/women

Now inverse that and you have average $ in a mid sized city you can enjoy life a lot more as a 1bdr is $900 not $1900. But women in that city will be trash as the ratio will be horrible and you’ll have 6s moving like they’re 9s
