That's how they do the 2 most popular NPB baseball games in Japan. They release every 2 years, alternating years. Gives more time to add actual new features and have more changes between each iteration. Releasing sports games every single year is just a money grab.

I only play NBA2K for the Association Mode which imo is the best mode for that real NBA season experience. That's always been my main attraction to NBA2K.
I honestly never cared much for MyCareer or MyTeam the past few releases; 2K21 was the last time I invested in MyCareer, yeah, I'll build a character and whatnot, but I don't venture into the city, parks, etc.
Take-Two has driven MyCareer into the ground with the same cash-grab microtransactions as Rockstar's GTA Online, Call of Duty, etc.

I miss the variety of sports games in the PS2 era. Each sport had multiple games made for it each year. This one game for each sport shyt with the current gen sucks
Blame bytch ass EA buying that exclusive NFL license and getting Sega out the paint. They killed sports gaming and turned it into this mess. I always thought NBA Live was trash and couldn't touch 2K, as far back as Dreamcast. But at least it was healthy competition.
I agree with you. Imagine if some dikkhead profit driven multi million dollar game studio bought up all the video games rights to motorsport leagues and car brands, and you can only play one single racing game every year. shyt is awful.

Like you said, will never happen. You getting a new 2K, Madden every year, even if they just slapping a new title screen on last year's title. It's all about that $$$.
