This is form of systematic racism still practiced here in Georgia.
I did a Georgia thread on "fortune" a while back and we were discussing something and got on topic of how a white neighborhood somehow stopped a black doctor from purchasing a home in the area.

If you're black or have black neighbours your property depreciates in value

Government sanctioned racism has had a crippling effect on the black community. We haven't had the generations to build ourselves up on the same level as whites in this country. Literally some of our parents lived this! We're not that far removed...

Some of the ills we have as a community still need to be worked out and it will only better itself with time and effort.
