i agree 2.5 is a lil harsh. But hot beats dont mean anything breh cheif keef can do that. french can get both hot beats AND hot features:krs:

That said, I think it's clear that Jay, even at his worst, isn't rapping as poorly Keef or French Montana :scusthov::scusthov:

Jay at his worst as a rapper, with great beats and great features, is probably still a 3-star album. Dude always makes competent music lol, can't say that for Keef or French

As I said, I don't think that Keef or Montana make competent music at all. I literally think they're incapable of creating music that is viable anywhere aside from the club. I don't think they're even capable of making songs like "Oceans," or "Heaven," or "Jay Z Blue."

For example, check "Oceans," which I've already said isn't as deep or thought-provoking as it could've been. In that song, he says:

"On the holiday playing "Strange Fruit"
If I'mma make it to a billi I can't take the same route"

"Can he be more cleaner
The oil spill that BP ain't clean up
I'm anti-Santa Maria
Only Christopher we acknowledge is Wallace
I don't even like Washingtons in my pocket
Black card go hard when I'm shopping"

Keef, French or Meek aren't going to have a string of lines like that, that basically shyt on these white American heroes like Christopher Columbus or George Washington, play up black heritage by bringing up Biggie, a black card, and metaphorically referring to himself as oil - especially, oil that a major corporation can't clean up. They also aren't going to juxtapose that self-reference of oil with "can he be more cleaner." They also aren't going to have a Billie Holiday reference that candid/clever, use and a past of lynching to bring context to their own success, and they aren't going to have the route/root double entendre in there either.

They may have one of those elements individually, but they aren't going to have them all together in a song that has the theme/metaphor of water, either.

Again, Jay could've gotten deeper here. But he's still way ahead of them, lol. They're just going to be like, "I'm rich, white people hate, the hood hates, but it's fine cuz I keep stuntin." And maybe the words will rhyme somewhere in between.

So being a fan means not being objective? Being a fan = liking every and anything an artist puts out?

Nope being a fan insinuates that you are a fan of what makes that certain artist, that certain artist.

You go around these boards and Ive never seen u once not make a negative statement about Hov's music

When ur a fan of someone you are anticipatin and excited for a release by said person
Not goin around playin Debbie Downer when it comes to the artist you're supposedly a fan of

You're just using the whole "Im a Jay Fan" shtick in a cowardly attempt to legitimize your contempt for the man..

And it shows

You're really not foolin anybody..but Ive alrdy been over this with u in that ur not really a fan..but just stickin to the label for the sake of contempt

But ya go listen to ur dumass lil B music fakket.. :ahh:

:Cant believe ya even comparing this trash to LIG. Dude catalog lookin :scusthov::flabbynsick: "Had a spark in the middle but now ya rhymes are just :flabbynsick: riddles" Dude cant even keep up with beyonce. Retire now please.

LIG and MCHG are neck and neck to me. Nothing great about either album. They have great moments and kinda fade off. I like both albums and I'm a huge fan of both rappers.

Being a fan = enjoying what makes a certain artist a certain artist, correct?

Jay USED to push the boundaries of creativity and technical excellence

Jay USED to rep Brooklyn

Jay USED to have both range (songs like Lucky Me & Who You Wit on the same album) & depth

Jay USED to be a rap visionary

I hold Jay to the standards he made for himself with the stuff he did in his career and hasn't been living up to over the last ~6 years... I watch his releases in the hopes of a return to excellence

So yea I am a fan, not a stan like you

"he used to push boundaries of creativity and technical excellence"?

"He used to be a rap visionary"?

"he used to rep brooklyn"?

He still does those things da fck are u goin on about..

Vol 2 wasnt technical, Vol 3 was hardly technical BP1 wasnt really technical TBA wasnt really technical so wdf are u sayin??

nikka ur the one that sounds sick in the head

nikka said 6 years...

How u dont like anything an artist put out for 10 years and call yourself a fan?

nikka get ya sht straight and this aint even stan talk..if u were a fan u wouldnt publically show your disgust towards those that show favor to Hov while at the same time never combatting those who show disgust towards him

Its simple..if u dnt feel Hov anymore and no longer get excited for a release of his ur no longer a fan

So cut the "Im a Jay fan" talk and save it for the gullible dumass fakket

U shower more praise for lil b than u do Jay but u a fan of Jay tho..nikka plz fck out my face nikka :rudy:

I respect that. I use to be a fan of both too. Its just that as I got older I respected nas more cause he drop gems. I dont like to compare the 2 often cause they represent 2 different perspectives on life in their music. I just prefer nas more. He's a little more deep and to the point. While jay is more witty and slick with his lines. But now jay is just hoppin on trends instead of setting them. Its good for longevity but he's not leaving a mark anymore. He left it on the black album.

:russ: Camel stan police demanding proof of allegiance....

U right... maybe I'm not a fan anymore... especially now that being a fan = cosigning any and everything an artist does

I guess in that case I'm not a fan of anybody... Lil B included :biggapls:

U bytch nikkas are too frail to deal w/objectivity... if its not praise u cant handle it. This generation is weak, and Jay's whiny ass has adopted your weak ass mannerisms at the expense of good music

Its all good tho... we still got the old shyt :manny:

And whats the trend that he hopped on with this album?? :mjpls:

Ive seen many people who I know that are local producers faint to this album and how different it sounds from the rest of hip hop...so Im kinda lost on what trend did he hop on :ld:
