this aint a popularity contest, we all know 50 sold more. but musically, he's done and nobody is fukking with like that. all the fans that bought his first 2 major releases wont blink an eye at his next album. ross has made consistent music that has keep him relevant since port of miami, that's a good enough legacy.

I didn't mention sales, I mentioned his mixtape blueprint which everyone follows, that's bigger than making some decent albums for the last six years.

And to be fair 50's time is coming from March 18th, everyone's counting him out the same way they did before he made 50 Cent Is The Future. If there's no buzz come May, then you could say he's done.

that's great, he sold a lot of albums and made a lot of great business moves. that doesn't make his music sound better though.

As much as I love great music as a fan, I respect those who are business minded even more. Not to say Ross hasn't been business minded. Obviously he's been able to translate his own musical success into a successful record label and restaurant venture... but if we look at things objectively, his high point has been equivalent to 50's low point.

Put it this way, Ross's highest selling album is only slightly higher than 50's lowest selling album. 50's 2nd highest selling album has more sales than all of Ross' albums COMBINED.

Rick Ross comes out and does 400K-600K on his album, I'd bet its mostly black people buying those records because suburban white boys don't fukk with Rick Ross like that. Thats a big factor in why people say Ross is relevant and 50 Cent isn't...you hear Ross in the hood, in the clubs, on the radio, your friends listen to him. I don't hear 50 like that and I know he's still releasing music. I just don't hear it anywhere off-line

You wonder why 50 can sell gold, and still be seen as "irrelevant". I think the answer is because its alot of white people who still like 50 Cent, and they buying his records. But for black folk, once you go off-line, you hear Rick Ross more than you do Fifty.

That was in 2009. I doubt that Fif will do those first week numbers in 2014. He ain't Hov with the first week numbers.
