You also gotta get within arms reach to use boxing. How can you use boxing in an enclosed space like say a bar or a restroom or some shyt. You wont always have the room to utilize footwork nor have range. In thai boxing you have the clinch, knees and elbows up close. Its a more well rounded skill set.

If your that close usually it’s going to the ground. You have to realize a street fight is not K-1 or glory kickboxing breh. There is no clinch battle taking place in a street fight. If somebody locks up it’s going to be trying to get the trip, throw or slam.

BTW, if it's combat striking, a competent MT will eventually beat a boxer. Leg reach is real and leg kicks are real. If you've ever been kicked in the leg by a muy thai fighter it'll make you think twice real quick about getting in range of that.
